Q:Please suggest a policy meeting J1 visa requirements for a 66 year old male for travel to USA

A:
Any plan in the Exchange Visitors (J1/J2) section of the website will meet the State Department J1 Visa requirements. However, due to being over 65 years of age, you are limited on the plans you are eligible to purchase. Atlas America will meet the J1 visa requirements and is available to ages over 65. If your sponsor or school has any additional requirements please call our office at 1(866) INSUBUY (4678289). If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:Hello! I am currently working overseas, but will be returning to the USA for a five month period before being sent to my next assignment. During that time, I will need to have an IUD removed. Is that covered under any of the temporary insurance plans offered? Thank you!

A:
Plans are designed to cover any new illness or injuries that were to occur after the effective date of the policy. No plans on the market will cover preventative care, routine maintenance, or known treatment. Unfortunately, there are no plans available to visitors that would offer that kind of coverage. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:We are new immigrants to USA, the greencard will be sent to us in the next 23 wks once upon our on arrival. Is it eligible to buy a visitor insurance to bridge the regular health insurance?

A:
Yes, you can purchase a plan to bridge that gap. Patriot America Plus is available to New Immigrants to the US and can be purchased for up to 6 months. It is recommended to purchase this plan before departure from your current Home Country as you are no longer eligible once you have established residency in the US. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:Hello, I am an incoming graduate student at Harvard starting this fall, who will be there on an F1 visa from until May 2024. Could you please suggest an insurance plan that will help me get a health insurance waiver from the university?

A:
F1 visa holders who have school insurance requirements can email their insurance requirements to info@insubuy.com and we will review them and see if we have any plans that meet the criteria. However, Harvard, per Massachusetts law, requires all students to have have medical insurance that will cover preventative care and none of our plans will offer that type of coverage. It is recommended that you go forward with the insurance that the school offers. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:My parents got acceptance to the green card program and I need to check if they can apply to the Obamacare health provider. My Father is 70 years old and my mother is 65 years old. They both haven't worked before in the United States so I know they don't qualify for Medicare. But can I put them as dependents on Taxpayer and enroll them in the Obamacare program?

A:
Please see our article on Obamacare Eligibility for Greencard Holders for more information on this matter. Insubuy does not sell ACA compliant plans so we are unable to advise on this. You can direct your question to a domestic insurance provider. If you have any additional questions about travelers insurance you can reach out to our office at 1(866) INSUBUY (8678289).
