Q:I am an international student who is studying in U.S. And I will take LL.M. course in UCLA from August to next May. I am looking for an insurance to waive my school insurance. I already tried to find whether Korean insurance companies have that kind of plan, but all of them said they don't have. because requirements suggested by UCLA is too high. So, I would like to ask you if you have that kind of option that meets the minimum requirements and is less expensive than that of the university. I'm sure you know about what type of insurance international students usually take. I will attach a file from the university that shows the minimum standards.

A:
Unfortunately, you will have to purchase the plan the university offers, there is no plan you can purchase on the market that will meet their requirements. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:Hello, I am an international student who is graduating in August. My current insurance plan will be expired at the end of July, and before my OPT is active, I need to purchase an insurance plan which could cover my medicines refill as well as some lab works. I want to have insurance on the first day of August until the end of October. My question is, do you provide any insurance plans cover pre-existing conditions? The medicine refills and routine lab works I need both are based on the pre-existing condition I have. If you do have insurance plans for OPT students who need pre-existing conditions to be covered, please let me know.

A:
Unfortunately, there is no plan available that will cover your pre-existing conditions for that duration. Plans that will include coverage for pre-existing conditions have at least a 6 month waiting period before they will cover these things.

Q:I have a question about the medical insurance coverage for OPT students. I have thyroid disorder, which requires me to do routine lab works and get medicine refills every month. I also need to do ultrasounds at half a year interval. Do you provide any medical insurance plans which will cover these expenses?

A:
There are 2 plans that offer some pre-existing coverage benefits after a 6 month waiting period. Those plans would be the Study USA Preferred 500, and the Student Secure Elite and Select plans. Please review the links for you to review the benefits they offer.
