Q:Due to previous insurance of 48 years, I need a policy that would cover Covid-19 ONLY for return to Costa Rica in June. It must NOT be general coverage as I would lose this existing insurance from an injury in 1972 and court award. For this reason I have never attempted to obtain Costa Rica Residency. I am a US Citizen, 73 years old. Great health, take no medications and other than age no health conditions to make me prone to Covid-19. Type O Negative Blood as type O is said most resistant.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. We have a few plans that will include coverage for COVID-19 as long as it were to manifest in the body after the effective date. Keep in mind these plans are also designed to cover the new illnesses and injuries that manifest in the body after the effective date. They will exclude coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventative and routine care. If you are needing to meet the requirements necessary to visit Costa Rica, you may view the available plans in the Costa Rica Travel insurance section of our website. However if you primarily reside in Costa Rica, we would be unable to offer you such coverage and you would need to contact the Costa Rican government to acquire insurance to meet their standards. Should you have additional questions, you may also call our office at +1 866) 467-8289.

Q:Hello, I am in the USA on a Q1 Visa till October, I am from Germany. I have made a postiv pregnancy test, my insurance what I have made in Germany not covering me here in the USA. What is the best insurance for me here ? I will go through the pregnancy in USA and deliver the baby in Germany. Thank in advance

A:
There are a few plans available that would offer you coverage under the Q1 visa, such as the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan. Keep in mind that the plan is designed to include coverage for the new illnesses and injuries that manifest in the body after the effective date. The plans will also exclude the coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventative and routine care. Unfortunately, there will not be a plan available on the market that will include the coverage for maternity care, so those expenses will have to be paid from your pocket. should you have additional questions you may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:Hello, I have two questions related to "Safe Travels USA" insurance. I'm wondering if I set Policy max higher than 100,000 and Deductible no more than 500 the insurance could fulfill J1 legal requirements.Second, I found that there is an Athletic Sports Coverage option. If we had not signed up for the option and if my son (11 years old) were injured playing soccer, then is the injury not covered by the insurance?Thank you for your great help.

A:
The Safe Travels plan will not meet the legal requirements necessary for the J1 visa. It would be recommended to purchase a plan from the J1 Visa Insurance section of our website to determine the appropriate plan. Should you have additional questions please let us know. You may also call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.
