Q:Air travel is prepaid but not car rental. If the travel policy includes rental car insurance, would the rental car still be covered if the rental amount is not included in total trip cost?

A:
Trip cancellation coverage that will include rental car coverage would be a separate benefit that would be outside of the trip cancellation coverage that is offered on the policy. Even if the rental car is not pre-paid it would still be covered under this benefit.

Q:I purchased Beacon series travel medical insurance administrated by Azimuth risk solutions on 11.27.2023. And I called a health care provider listed under united health care options ppo network on 11.29.2023. When the office assistant asked for my health insurance company and ID I provided them with united health care ID which was on my insubuy accounts site. But the office assistant said that she couldn't find any insurance plan or coverage related to my informations on united health care data base. What should I do?

A:
It is likely that a provider would not be able to see your policy in their system. If a provider needs to verify your benefits, they will need to call the number that is on the back of your insurance ID card. If you have any additional questions please call our office at 1(866)467-8289.

Q:my dad has a defibrillator implanted , and is visiting me in US. He is travelling to India. I want to enquire about the health insurance that would cover his travel to US for a period of 50 days

A:
We have two types of plans, some that cover for an acute onset of a pre-exsiting conditions and other that cover for pre-existing conditions, An "Acute Onset of a Pre-Existing Condition" is a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-Existing Condition(s) which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms, is of short duration, is rapidly progressive, and requires immediate care. The Acute Onset of a Pre-Existing Condition must occur after the effective date of the policy. Treatment must be obtained within 24 hours of the sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence. A Pre-Existing Condition that is a chronic or congenital condition or that gradually becomes worse over time will not be considered Acute Onset. This benefit does not include coverage for known, scheduled, required, or expected medical care, drugs or Treatments existent or necessary prior to the Effective Date of coverage. If you can enter your information in this link we can quote all our available plans. Q:Does visitors insurance cover pregnancy ?

A:
Unfortunately, there are no plans available for travelers that will cover for maternity or delivery related expenses. However, some plans like Atlas America, do offer coverage for the Complications of Pregnancy within the first 26 weeks. Complications of Pregnancy is defined as Illnesses whose diagnoses are distinct from Pregnancy, but are adversely affected by Pregnancy or caused by Pregnancy, and not associated with a normal Pregnancy. This includes: ectopic Pregnancy, spontaneous abortion, hyperemesis gravidarum, pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, missed abortion and conditions of comparable severity. If you would like to have maternity covered in the US, you will have to purchase domestic insurance or pay out-of-pocket for all related expenses. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:I am a US citizen and will travel from USA to EU. Travel Insurance Policy states coverage of preexisting conditions up to a policy maximum with Primary Health coverage and up to 20000 without it. I have a health insurance plan in USA but they don't cover anything abroad. Is it considered Primary Health coverage?

A:
Yes, even if your primary insurance does not cover you abroad, you would still be considered to have a primary insurance in the United States. Be advised, that your Primary Plan would need to remain active while you are traveling abroad for you to remain eligible. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
