Q:I am looking at the Patriot America Plus plan and want to understand what is the coverage for prescription drugs in case they're necessary during the trip. The plan indicates they provide an Rx Prescription discount card. What coverage is available for medicine. For example, in case of hospitalization. Or after being released if you were hospitalized. What about walk in to an urgent care and getting an antibiotic prescription (that seems not to be covered, is that correct).

A:

Q:I bought the Atlas plan. If i have to use it, what procedures for the insurer to pay directly? which do I do first?

A:
If you need to use the insurance, you would present your ID card to the provider so that they may verify your benefits. Direct billing is up to the provider. They will either bill the insurance company, or have you pay up front and file a claim for reimbursement. As long as the treatment or services are for covered expenses under the plan, the plan will pay up to your policy's benefits levels based on if you went to an in-network or out of network provider. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
