Q:pre existing coverage are they covered on any plan or not for worldwide travel. Is the insurance I buy valid in multiple countires such as Dominican Republic Costa Rica -Vietnam.Thxs

A:
Where a plan will cover someone would depend on the plan. We do have plans that can cover someone anywhere in the world outside of their home country where they have principle residence. If the travel does not include the U.S., you can find plans here: /travel-health-insurance/ If the travel does include the U.S. then use this link: /visitors-insurance/ Some countries have insurance requirements, so you will want to make sure whatever plan you choose can meet those as well. The plans will not cover pre-existing conditions. Some plans offer Acute onset of pre-exisitng condition coverage. Here is an information link explaining that benefit: /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:My parents are visiting the US and applying for green cards. While they wait for USCIS's decision on their green cards application which could take up to a year, what is the best health insurance option for them? I've purchased the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan for them, but it still has many limitations. Is this plan the best option? Thank you very much!

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. Yes, the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan is a recommended option for someone that has applied for their green card. The insureds may have this plan until their green card application is approved. Then they may purchase either a domestic insurance from your states health care exchange or a plan from our new immigrants section until they do become eligible for domestic insurance. The new immigrant health insurance plans will provide similar coverage to the plan you currently have, the primary difference is in the eligibility. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
