Q:My son has ADHD and will be studying in the US as an international student. Will his prescription be covered or it considered a pre existing condition.

A:
Anything that with medical reasonable certainty existed before the purchase of a plan, would be considered as pre-existing on a policy purchased. Some International Student Insurance plans will provide pre-existing condition coverage however, they will a waiting period of at least 6 months on any policy that would provide such coverage. You take a look at the International student section of the website for these plans and review the levels of coverage available and their respective waiting periods. Some of the recommend plans would be Study USA Platinum , Student Health Advantage Platinum or Student Secure Elite these plans will have the shortest waiting periods of 6 months for pre-existing conditions. If coverage if needed from day one we would recommend reaching out the the University to see if there is a student plan available that he would be eligible to enroll into from the school.

Q:Do you offer any ongoing health insurance for US expats relocating to SE Asia. Our age at present is 74 & 75. We don't need coverage outside SE Asia ie Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia. We would like to have a policy that is bare minimum with high deductibles and one that won't drop us as we age.

A:
Available international plans are designed to cover you anywhere outside of the home country and as expats living in your home country of South East Asia we would not have any available plan options for coverage. We would recommend looking for local domestic options in country.

Q:I am travelling to USa in August with my wife as new Immigrant and have a work in Hospital in OHio by SeptemberMy Wife is Pregnant and she will be 26 weeks by August, My company have insurance but it will be effective after I join in September or sometime after it is process. What is best insurance you can offer maybe for prenatal or any emergencies might happen during the time we dont have insurance yet like around for 1 month or 1 and half months.

A:
Unfortunately, there would not be a plan that we could offer a new immigrant that we could offer to cover anything more than the 26 weeks for pregnancy complications. The plans would be designed to cover the new items that manifest after the effective date of the policy. The International Major Medical plan would be the only available option for coverage that will coverage in the interim period. Pregnancy and maternity related services would have to be paid for out of pocket.
