Q:I purchased an annual travel insurance policy believing the first one had expired. However when I discovered that the first was still valid I tried to cancel the second one. I have been told that I can only cancel it if I haven't travelled on it. Since this dispute started I have travelled. Since I currently have two travel insurance policies is it ok for me to say that I travelled on my existing travel insurance policy? (and not on the new policy)

A:
We would not be able to answer this question without obtaining additional information. We would need your policy certificate numbers to look at your policies and also confirm with the policy administrator how this type of situation should be handled. If you would like to send your question along with your certificate numbers to info@insubuy.com, we would be glad to look into this for you.

Q:I am looking for health insurance for my mother who will be visiting from India . She is 64 years old. In the past I had purchased her insurance thru InsuBuy and considering the same this time too. I have a quick question regarding the wellness visit which is part of some plans? What does it cover? it says routine exam? Does that mean a physical with some blood work as needed? Is it covered 100%? Can i make an appointment with any provider within network for the same?

A:
You are referring to the Safe Travels plans that offer 1 wellness visit. Here is the information link on the Wellness visit for you to review for those plans: /safe-travel-insurance/wellness-visit/ No, it will not cover 100%. It will reimbuse you up to $125.00 towards the visit cost. You must register for the appointment and the appointmentmust be within the first 21 days the policy is active. The exam codes are pre-determined so you will not be able to choose which tests or labs are done. It will be a basic exam. It will also count as a claim, so be advised that will make you ineligible for any future refund if you end up needing to cancel the policy at a future date. You can go to any provider as it is a flat rate reimbursement. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I anticipate Green Card for my parents soon and they will be coming over. One of my parents is suffering from Chronic Kidney disease. He doesn't require dialysis now but might need it in the future. Can you specify if any of your health insurance covers it. If so, what would be the cost and options?

A:

Q:My mother, who is 66yrs old, is visiting US for 6 months, she has few pre-existing conditions. While she is fine for her age, need to have insurance coverage in case of any unforeseen emergency cardiac event. What are the best most comprehensive insurance package i can buy?please include even the underwriter and as detailed info as possible.

A:
Most plans for visitors do not cover for pre-existing conditions. Some provide an acute onset benefits for pre-existing conditions and below I have provided the information link for that benefit. /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ However, we do have one plan that can provide pre-existing condition coverage. It must be purchased before the insured departs their home country. Also, the plan has a minimum 3 month purchase, so whether the insured needs coverage for 3 months or 2 weeks, it would still charge you for 3 months. /visitors-protect-insurance/ All of the plan information including the underwriter etc. can be found through the above link as well as the ability to run quotes and purchase. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:So if a person chooses to have a Pre-existing clause in their policy does it include having the whole trip cut short or cancelled because of medical issues?I know that it would cover medical expenses while on the trip but if the trip or length of the trip is shortened cancelled because of a pre-existing condition what are we covered for? Would the costs of the trip or the rest of the trip be covered? Would flights home be covered? Any other info would be appreciated.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. The pre-existing condition clause is generally applied to medical situations and treatment that occurs during your trip. Most Travel Insurance plans will provide coverage for the Trip Cancellation due to the illness of yourself, traveling companion or family member. If an illness happens prior to the trip and this prevents you from travelling then you may file a claim for reimbursement of the non-refundable, prepaid travel expenses under Trip Cancellation. If you are already on the trip, but must return home due to an illness then you will file a claim for the return travel expenses under the Trip Interruption benefit. The amount of coverage you will have for Trip Interruption will depend on the plan you purchase.
