Q:Insurance for missionary to Africa My wife and I are contemplating going to Africa as missionaries of our sending Church, Lake Tomahawk Bible Church. We would be long-term, possibly lifetime and would work in ten different countries in Africa. We are self supporting and retired. I will be Medicare eligible on June 1, 2007 and my wife is 73 and already participating in Medicare along with a supplemental policy. Please give us any advice you deem relevant and ask any questions you might need to know. Thank you for your time on our behalf.

A:
You can look at long term plans like Global Mission Medical and Global Mission Basic plans available at /missionary-health-insurance/ You would be get all the details and the prices online. You can also purchase it online. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. How do I find information about the Outreach Plan? It stated in the material that if one were going overseas for more than three months and the person was under age 80, that one should look at page 9 of this plan. It appears the maximum amount my wife could purchase is $50,000. Is that correct? We would have our Medicare coverage if we came back to the U.S., but we would need your coverage for local African care and emergency evacuation to other locations (probably outside of Africa and into Europe) for critical care. Your help and information, please. Thank you. Brochure for Outreach is available at /outreach-international/missionary-travel-medical-insurance/ All the information is there. Maximum coverage for 70+ is $50,000. Yes, it covers new medical conditions anywhere outside home country and emergency evacuation as well. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I am now buying the insurance online as I found how to do it, but the only concern is that the package will not make it to our address here on time, can I give an address of a friend in the states where we are going?? Thanks you, Yes, you can. Just put that as mailing address. Put your address for all other addresses. Thank you very much it worked out and was accepted, we will go the USA and await the papers at our friends house. How long will it take for the papers to be send there? Thank you, Papers are mailed next business day and take around 3 to 5 days to get delivered by post office.

Q:Missionary insurance coverage We as a family live and work as missionaries in Costa Rica. My husband and children are costaricans (but kids have dutch passports) and I am from the Netherlands. We have been looking at your full time medical insurance Global Mission Basic. My question is does it cover a costa Rican living in their own country as well and also if the coverage includes maternal care, such as doctors visits, birth, C-section, etc. I wasn't able to find any of that on the coverage page. Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions. If we decide to go ahead and apply for the insurance would this cover us from the moment we purchase it? We are planning a trip to the USA as a family in May and we were wondering if it would cover us there if we purchase the insurance within the next few weeks. Sincerely

A:
Yes, Global Mission Basic will cover Costa Rican living in their own country. Only restriction is that US citizen can't be living in US for more than 6 months in order to be eligible. Anyone else can stay at any place or any duration and get covered. As you can in see in the brochure at /global-medical-insurance/international-health-insurance/, maternity coverage is optional at extra charge. Yes, it will cover a trip to US for few weeks as well. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you for such a quick reply. I did have one more quick questions in regards to the maternity rider. I understand from the brochure that it would be an extra 2500 dollars per year? Also, if we choose the Global Mission basic world coverage I wasn't quite sure how much our payment would be if we would like to have a 1000 deductible for two adults and two children under the age of 5. Thank you again for your quick response, 1. That is correct. 2. You can get instant quotes online at /global-medical-insurance/international-health-insurance/ Please let me know if you have any other questions. Greetings once again, It is april 22nd and we have thought about the insurance and we would like to apply for a visitors insurance for the USA. I found the quote online and says 90 dollars for the four of us. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 small chidren. How can I apply for this insurance. Could you send me the forms, do I go through you, I couldn't find the application on your website. Thank you very much. Sincerely, You can buy the insurance online at /global-medical-insurance/international-health-insurance/ Just click on the price that you like and it would start the application. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Q:Research scholar insurance I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in School of Pharmacy Texas Tech University Health Science Center, Amarillo Texas 79106. I want to buy medical insurance for evacuation, repatriation and for medical benefits, I went to your website and chosen Plan A (age group 19-29) where monthly premium is $40.00 (Deductible). I have some queries which I need to clarify before I go with this insurance. I would avail my medical insurance provided by my school from October 1st 07. Is this possible that if after 3 months I do not want medical benefits and only want to continue the insurance for evacuation and repatriation, the amount for monthly premium $40.00 will decrease or going to be the same. Which hospital is entitled to provide the medical benefits? What would be the co pay policy each time I visit to doctor and purchase a medicine? I would appreciate for your prompt reply.

A:
1. It will be same. 2. Look at /travel-and-student-insurance-ppo-network/ 3. There is no concept of copay. If you need to use the insurance, you have to first pay the deductible once (such as $250). After that, insurance company pays 80% for first $5,000 in eligible medical expenses, you pay 20%. After $5,000, insurance company pays 100% up to $50,000. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Q:Patriot America insurance questions I got your contact from your site. Not sure whether you entertain direct emails or not. Anyway wanted to contact you directly with couple of queries: I have almost made my mind to buy Patriot America for my mother who is going to visit me for 2 months starting from August 8th. I need the following clarifications: 1. In the brochure, under claim processing, it appears as if for every claim, the insured will have to pay the full amount and then file the claim with the insurance company for settlement. If we are obtaining the services from PPO, will the provider not directly bill the insurance company and then bill the insured if there is anything extra which is not covered. May be I am reading it wrong, but I need a confirmation before I buy. 2. In the brochure, it does not mention specifically how prescriptions are covered. Can you please clarify? 3. For ER visit, which does not end up with hospitalization, there is an additional deductible of $250. Does this mean if my policy deductible is $250, I will have to pay first $500, before insurance start paying? Is this correct? I would really appreciate your feedback on the queries and on the this policy (Patriot America) in general.

A:
1. Please read /international-medical-ppo-network/ to understand how exactly it works. What is written in the brochure is a general statement as Patriot America is valid all over the world except home country. And outside US, there is no concept of PPO. 2. Prescription drugs are covered just like any other medical expenses. 3. That rule does not apply for injuries or accidents. That is only for the sicknesses that don't result in hospitalizaton. And your understanding is correct. You can make instant purchase of Patriot America online at /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any other questions. Thank you very much for the prompt response. Couple more things: 1. On the online application, there is filed 'Area of Coverage' - the options are '---Quote All Coverage Areas---', 'Area 2 - excluding US/Canada', 'Area 3 - Worldwide'. What should I be selecting here. My mother is traveling from India to US and then will go back from US to India. She does not intend to travel to any other country. 2. She will start on 8th August from India and will leave US on 11th October and will be reaching India on 12th October. What should be my start date and end date on the policy? As per me, it should be 8th August and 12th October. Please advise. 3. I assume that travel is covered in Patriot America. Please confirm. 1. That question is a programming mistake. Coverage is valid anywhere outside home country, including US/Canada, no matter what you put. Anyway, put Area 3. 2. Start date: Aug 7 End Date: Oct 13 In order to cover during travel. 3. Look at answer #2. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
