Q:Age 70+ Need insurance advice father -75 - Takes some BP medicine and some for prostrate etc. He is having a medical check up before travelling to US. Generally healthy though as usual he due to his age he does take some medicines regularly. Mother - 68, Generally healthy, she also takes some regular medicines for BP etc What is the best comprehensive insurance that I can take for them. Is it worthwhile to take preexisting conditions insurance for my father since I see that most insurance does not cover anything serious like stroke and Heart attack above 70+. Is it worthwhile to spend the money to take preexisting coverage like the one offered by Liaison majestic since the total coverage for preexisting coverage seems very minimal. In case of such situations is medical repatriation covered ? Any advice will be helpful

A:
Practically, there is no visitor insurance plan for 70+ that would cover cover pre-existing conditions. Liaison Majestic covers only up to $200/night if the person is admitted into the hospital for heart attack or stroke that is due to pre-existing conditions. That is nothing. For new conditions, look at Patriot Platinum America, Atlas America or Liaison Continent for 70+. For below 70, coverage is available for acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Look at Atlas America or Liaison Continent. All of the plans above are listed at /visitor-insurance/ Regarding emergency medical evacuation, please read /emergency-medical-evacuation-to-india/ thank you for the prompt response. Q:Visitors insurance for parents-comprehensive coverage!! Hi, I'd like to buy visitors health insurance (comprehensive coverage one) for my parents as of now & later for in-laws. Please suggest me good insurance companies that have coverage in North Carolina,USA (urgent care accepted). I'd prefer the one that gives $100,000/person policy(recommended) for Age<70yrs . Father's age: 65yrs No pre-existing medical condition Mother's age: 64 yrs No pre-existing medical condition Thanks.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitors health insurance for your parents. You can consider purchasing either Atlas America /atlasamerica-insurance/ or Liaison Continent at /safe-travels-usa-comprehensive-insurance/ Please go through those links. You will get all the information. You can make an instant purchase online. You can also compare them side by side at https://www.insubuy.com I hope that answers your questions. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time. Thanks so much!! How's Patriot Platinum America in comparison to Atlas America & Liaison Continent ? For persons below the age of 70 years, minimum coverage available in Patriot Platinum America is $1,000,000 while you asked for $100,000. Therefore, it didn't meet your criteria. Therefore, I didn't mention anything about it.

Q:Insurance just for J2 Hi! I'm currently on a J1 visa and I have insurance through my school. My wife is on J2 visa, and I'd like to know which insurance policy she is eligible to. Just for clarification: she would be the only person purchasing insurance from you. Is that possible? Thanks!

A:
You can purchase Patriot Exchange Program /patriot-exchange-program-insurance/ Thanks for the prompt reply! The issue with the "Patriot Exchange Program Insurance" is that my wife (J2) is only eligible if I also purchase it for myself (J1). And since I already have the school insurance, that's not a very good option. That said, can I purchase the "Patriot America" (/patriot-america-lite-insurance/) just for her? That's what has been suggested in the posts I mentioned previously. I just want to make sure that a J2-visa-bearer is eligible for the "Patriot America" just like an F2-visa-bearer is. Thanks again! Patriot Exchange Program eligibility requirements have been revised few months ago. Therefore, please don't look at the old posts. As long as J1 visa holder is insured through the program such as through school (Not through competitor insurance company), J2 only is eligible to purchase Patriot Exchange Program. Unlike F2, J2 has specific requirements for insurance and Patriot America does not meet the J2 visa requirements. Therefore, I suggest that you purchase Patriot Exchange Program insurance. If you have any other quesitons, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time. I see. Thanks for the reply. Just making sure I understand the J1 visa holder condition you specified: I am currently enrolled in my school's partner insurance company (namely, Aetna). In other words, being a student at my institution doesn't mean that the institution itself provides all health services. Rather, it means that I become eligible for a special health plan provided by Aetna just for students at my institution. And the entity that is paying for this special health plan is my sponsor (i.e. the same company that is sponsoring my J1 status). So, back to your point: under these conditions, is my J2-visa-holder wife eligible for Insubuy's "Patriot Exchange Program Insurance"? Thanks a lot! Yes Thanks for the clarification!

Q:Is Endoscopy & Colonoscopy covered Hello Currently have bought Patriot America for my parents. Father is 67 yrs with no pre-exisiting conditions. Since 2 weeks, he developed gastric problems, excessive bloting, heartburn & occasional passing of blood in stools. Visited a in-network PCP who is suggesting a Endoscopy & colonoscopy. We contacted the insurance benefits department who say that we need to get pre-certified but no assurances will be given if these 2 procedures will be covered by insurance. The contract paper work also does not clearly state if these proceedures are covered. I am in a dilemma wherether to take chance & go ahead or not. Please share if anyone had similar experiences . Thank you

A:
They are right. There is no way to tell in advance whether something like that will be covered or not. That is true with all the visitors insurance from all the companies. Please read various articles at /international-health-insurance-claims/ That will help you understand the process better. If you still have questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.
