Q:I plan to invite my parents visiting USA in summer. They are both over 70. I'm thinking of buying separate policy for them. My mother is in good healthy conditions. My father has been in the treatment of cancer for more than one year. He's recovering from a latest surgery that removed one tumor. Doctors suggested no need for further chemo. If he's strong enough to come to the U.S. for 2 months' break, I would like to have an insurance to cover necessary medical checks (not treatments, just check to monitor the condition), and also coverage in case of emergency.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. We have many plans for visitors to the US that will cover any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date of the policy. Unfortunately, there is no plan on the market that will cover his follow-ups for a pre-existing condition. There are no plans available to visitors over 70 for pre-existing conditions, preventative care or routine maintenance. If you would like a quote you can enter their information in our website and view all the available plans or we can email a quote to you. To generate the quote we would need their exact ages, the dates you will want coverage, as well as the state they will be visiting. You can also call our office to speak with one of our licensed insurance agents.

Q:When I put my spouse details in your website which your website gives me the price for 92 days was $199.64 (policy max $100,000 and deductible $0 per person). However, when I wanted to purchase the price increased to $399, how is it possible? Why I am going to be the applicant? the applicant will be my spouse and I have my own health coverage.

A:
When filling out the application, you would not be entering your information at all, only your spouses as the applicant. The price should be the same if It is for the same # of people, same ages as entered in the quote, as well as the # of days requested, policy maximum and deductible amount. I would start over at the beginning of the application. If after that, you are still having problems, you can contact our office at (866) INSUBUY and we would be glad to assist.

Q:I am an American who works overseas. I need supplementary insurance while we are in the US for the next month and a half. My daughter is also a US citizen but my husband is not a citizen. I would prefer to go with one of the options that is underwritten by Lloyds and has PPO with First Health as that is a good network

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. You need to separate application for US Citizen and Non US Citizen. For USC whose home country is outside USA and coming to USA as a visitor you have very limited options. You can purchase the Safe Travel USA Cost saver plan. Safe Travel USA Cost Saver brochure, instant purchase link with First Health PPO network can be found here. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q:I am looking into Atlas America quotes for comprehensive coverage plans for my parents coming in soon. Was wondering if you help me with the following questions.. 1. Both my parents are aged between 65 and 70 with minor preexisting conditions.. Was wondering what will be covered and what will not be ? 2. Planning to take coverage for 3 months initially.. if they plan to stay back for more months later, was wondering if we can extend the insurance? And what's the minimum days required to extend the insurance? 3. Will they be getting their insurance cards, that they can use the way we use our medical cards here .. I mean just go to doctor.. show insurance card and pay the copay.. and rest is taken care of ? 4. Finally can you suggest the best plan for my parents?

A:
Before we suggest any plan would like to know their exact age. They between 65-69 yrs or 70+. Because benefits will be different for age 70 and above. Answer for your questions below: 1. Insurance will not pay for any pre-existing conditions or preventive care. However some plan has coverage for acute onset of pre-existing conditions for age below 70yrs. More information on acute onset of pre-ex here. 2. Most of the plans you can renew before the expiration date. There will be $5 renewal fees. You can renew mini. For 5days and it will be daily rate. 3. As soon as you purchase insurance you will receive confirmation by e-mail. Which will have a link to print id card and other documents. If you select you want to receive card by mail then it will be mailed to you next business days. Insurance card will have policy number, claim address and PPO network logo. 4. We can suggest the plan once we you provide their exact age. If your father is 70+ then you need to get separate quote. Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
