International students are exempt from any tax penalties that are assessed for not having a compliant plan. If the universities requirements state that the plan must be ACA compliant she is still required to adhere to this requirement or the University may deny her waiver for her insurance. If a student is not in compliance with the Universities standards her status could be adversely affected.
