Q:Visitor to USA pre-existing conditions I am visiting my in-laws in the States for at least 6 months. I have under active thyroid, need to be followed up by doctors and take medicine regularly. Is there any insurance I can apply?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. Please provide the visa type and state that you will be on so that we can make a proper plan recommendation Thanks for your response. My visa type is B1/2, and was issued in Taiwan. I will be in South and North Carolina. The available plans will only cover the new accidents and new illness that occur after the effective date of the policy. There is not a plan on the market that will cover any routine care for your thyroid as this would be considered pre-existing. Please use the link below to find plan that will cover an acute onset of a pre-existing condition and t find available plans. Q:Residence Question visitor insurance My fiancee and I are getting ready to travel to the US for a month after a year of traveling around Europe. We are 27 (female, USA) and 30 (male, UK). We will get married on July 14 and since we have birthdays in the middle of July also, we have a few questions regarding the form for health insurance during our stay in America. We don't have an actual place of residence, but will be moving to Cairo, Egypt to live and work in early August. What should be put as our country of residence on the form since we have been hopping around to different countries in Eastern Europe and don't have a home base. We are also concerned with the fact that we will both turn one year older during our trip to America and our marital status will change during this time. What are we supposed to put on the form? Please help us with this as soon as possible as our trip to America begins July 1 and ends August 2.

A:

Q:Visitor's Insurance for Male Aged 71 I called Insubuy this morning for Visitor's Insurance for my In-Laws aged 65 and 71. I purchased Atlas America for my Mom-in-law aged 65 based on the agent's recommendation. However, I am STILL having a hard time deciding between the two recommended plans for my dad-in-law aged 71 despite talking to an agent. The two plans recommended were : 1) Patriot America/IMG/First Health PPO 2) Liaison Continent A/Seven Corners/United HealthCare Global PPO I read through both plans and they seem very similar in terms of benefits. Even their premiums are only a few dollars apart. 1) Can you please list the major differences between both plans so I can decide? 2) Some online reviews are giving IMG a very bad name. They say they are extremely difficult to deal with when it comes to claims and reject EVERY claim. Hence I am leaning towards Seven Corners. Also I have heard of United HealthCare more than First Health. Is this rationale valid? 3) Do both cover Canada in case we go there for a visit? 4) No One covers pre-existing over 70, correct? 5) Patriot America is 90/10 plan but in case we go out of network we have to pay 20% up to $5k. What about out-of-network in Liaison Continent A ? I couldn't find that answer online. 6) Is there any other plan that you can recommend ? What are your thoughts on Atlas America for age 71 ? You can purchase the Atlas America plan for over 70. Just like any other plan it will cover them for any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date of the policy. A prompt response will be sincerely appreciated. They will be here for 4 months starting Mon June 13th. You have answered a lot of common questions on your website. Thank You for that. Your website has really helped us a lot when it comes to Visitors Insurance.
