Q:Health Insurance for J2-Holders Hello, I would like to ask you if it is possible to purchase a Health Insurance JUST for a J2-Visa Holder. I don't know yet when exactly my wife is going to arrive in the US. Besides it would have to be a plan that fulfills the following requirements: Insurance Requirements for Exchange Visitors ________________________________________ Minimum coverage shall provide 1. Medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness; 2. Repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000; 3. Expenses associated with the medical evacuation of the ex¬change visitor to his or her home country in the amount of $50,000; and 4. A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness. An insurance policy secured to fulfill the requirements of this section: 1. May require a waiting period for pre-existing conditions which is reasonable as determined by current industry standards. The University has determined the current industry standard to be 6 months or less. 2. May include provision for co-insurance under the terms of which the exchange visitor may be required to pay up to 25% of the covered benefits per accident or illness; and 3. Shall not unreasonably exclude coverage for perils inherent to the activities of the exchange program in which the exchange visitor participates.

Q:Health Insurance for J1-Holders I was admitted as visiting scholar at the University of Chicago. As a J1-Holder, I intend to purchase the health insurance offered by Patriot Exchange Program. But first I would have two questions about it. 1) The Uchicago site says that "All Visiting Scholars are automatically enrolled in the Standard Insurance Company Life/AD&D Insurance Plan which provides the new Department of State requirement of Medical Evacuation coverage of $50,000 and Repatriation of Remains Coverage of $25,000 required for J-1 Visa holders.". So I would like to ask if I can purchase the health insurance offered by Patriot Exchange Program WITHOUT THIS COVERAGE. 2) My wife will arrive in the US only in May. As a J2-Holder, I would like to purchase the health insurance offered by Patriot Exchange Program. Is that a problem to enroll her only after her arrival ? Thank you in advance

A:

Q:Hello here is my school health insurance coverage It is important that students and families make an informed decision regarding their health insurance coverage. Before waiving the sponsored Suffolk Student Health Insurance Plan (SSHIP), carefully review your current coverage and determine that it meets each of the following requirements. - Does your current plan provide coverage for the entire academic year through August 21, 2017? You will not be able to enroll at a later date unless you lose coverage under your current health insurance plan and notify University Health Plans within 60 days from the date you lose your previous coverage. - Did you review your current plan and have determined your current coverage is comparable to the Student Health Insurance Plan? - Does your plan have an unlimited policy maximum for all essential benefits, including prescription drugs? - Does your plan have local participating hospitals, physician, pharmacies, and mental health care providers within a 50 mile radius of Suffolk University? - Does your plan provide inpatient and outpatient mental health care and chemical dependency benefits? - Does your current plan cover pre-existing conditions? - Is your current plan provided by a company licensed to do business in the United States, with a U.S. claims payment office? - Do you have the financial resources to pay for health insurance plan if your plan deductible is more than $250? - I confirm that I do not have a Health Safety Net Plan, MassHealth Limited, or Children's Medical Security. If your current health insurance plan does not meet ALL of the requirements listed above, you are not eligible to waive the Suffolk Student Health Insurance Plan. Please let me know which insurance you guys can offer me , and I'm looking for the cheapest one

A:
