Are you on student visa or Green card holder? Green card holder for almost 4 years. As a green card holder you are required to have a domestic insurance that is ACA compliant in order to avoid penalties for not having a compliant plan. It is advisable to purchase an insurance plan from your University in order to have a proper medical insurance for a U.S. Permanent resident.
