Q:I am interested in purchasing the insurance for students on OPT. It was mentioned that preventive check ups are not included. So I was wondering if, for example, I go to an obgyn with some problems and and they have to do STD screenings to determine my problem- 1- Will those screenings be covered? 2- Is the visit itself covered regardless of the reason I'm going there? 3- Are contraceptives covered? 4- Where can I find a comprehensive list of things that are covered? Sorry if the questions are too obvious, it's the first time I'm getting insurance in the US by myself.

A:

Q:UK visitor, medical insurance in USA needed, age 70 Good afternoon I am a United Kingdom British subject wishing to travel from the UK to USA later this year for a period of approximately 10 days. Can you offer me medical travel insurance plan for that period? I will need to offer you my medical history.

A:
Hello, Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. There are many plans that you can purchase for coverage within the United States. If you would like a quote for coverage please send us your age, the state that you would need coverage in as well as the status that you will be arriving on and plan recommendation and quote can be sent to you. Meanwhile, you can review plans using the following link: www.insubuy.com Hello Thank you for your response. My age is 70 years My final destination will be the State of Maine, but will arrive via Boston, MA. My status will be a UK Passport with attached USA Visa. Hello, Can you please provide your dates of coverage. Hello I haven't booked a flight ticket yet, but should be around the first week of November 2016 for up to 10 days. Kind regards Hello, Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. A separate quote for coverage had been emailed to you for review. Please feel free to contact our office for further assistance. Hello Thank you for your quotation. I notice the max Policy cover is $50,000. Can I increase this amount to $100,000 or is it in order to have two insurance policies with different insurance companies. I would also feel more secure in coming to the USA if I offered my pre-existing medical conditions. The reason for this I was admitted to hospital in Maine, May 2014 and was discharged after 15 days with bills amounting over $80,000. The claim was denied by my UK insurer with the reason a pre-existing condition may have contributed to my illness. The American surgeon stated the pre-existing condition had no direct connection with my illness at that time. Even so I lost the claim and had to pay, so I need to be sure I don't get caught out again. Thank you for your good service. Kind regards Hello, The plans we have recommended do not offer a $100,000 policy max for someone 70 and over. Please see the links provided for the plans that will offer the $100,000 policy max. Atlas America brochure and instant purchase link: /atlasamerica-insurance/ Patriot Platinum brochure and instant purchase link: /patriot-america-platinum-insurance/ When completing an application there is nowhere that you can include information about your pre-existing conditions. That information would only be requested in the event of a claim. You can keep the records available in case there is a need. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:Patriot America vs Patriot America Plus Clarifications Hello, I have looked at your site insubuy.com - and found Patriot America & Patriot America PLUS as 2 plans that fit the need - However, I have few clarifications and questions before I decide to buy from here then from India. Parents ages 65 & 63 and visiting for about 3 months from India. (1) What is the difference between the two (PA and PA Plus)? (2) PA Plus indicates that it covers "Acute onset of pre-existing conditions to policy max for age <70" what does that mean ? I wanted to know with some specifics & also any references where claim was settled successfully (3) I am in 94583 zip code -- is there any Insubuy agent locally who I can work with ? (4) What are the hospitals in 94583 zip code that accepts PA plans as cashless (direct billing) policies and is there a way to verify ? what documents are needed under emergency or otherwise for claiming the benefits ? Regards,

A:
(1) What is the difference between the two (PA and PA Plus) ? The difference between the Patriot America and Patriot America Plus plans is simply the acute onset of a pre-existing condition coverage. Everything else about the plan is identical (2) PA Plus indicates that it covers "Acute onset of pre existing conditions to policy max for age <70" what does that mean ? I wanted to know with some specifics & also any references where claim was settled successfully The acute onset of a pre-existing condition definition is as follows : ** Acute Onset of a Pre-existing Condition – a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing condition(s) which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of a physician’s recommendations or symptoms, is short of duration, is rapidly progressive and requires urgent care. The acute onset of a pre-existing condition (s) must occur after the effective date of the policy, Treatment must be obtained within 24 hours of the sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence. A pre-existing condition that is a chronic or congenital condition or that gradually become worse over time will not be considered an acute onset. This benefit does not include coverage for known, scheduled, required, or expected medical care, drugs treatment existent or necessary prior to the effective date of coverage. ** You can also view a very informative FAQ on the acute onset of a pre-existing condition that may assist with answering any additional question about this coverage. This link will also provide examples of such cases. Acute onset FAQ: /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ (3) I am in 94583 zipcode -- is there any Insubuy agent locally who I can work with ? Unfortunately, the only Insubuy office is located in Plano, TX, but we are more than happy to arrange a call with a licensed agent to discuss plan options and answer any questions. (4) What are the hospitals in 94583 zipcode that accepts PA plans as cashless (direct billing) policies and is there a way to verify ? what documents are needed under emergency or otherwise for claiming the benefits ? You can perform a provider search using the following link: /international-medical-ppo-network/ It is best to travel with a copy of the ID Card as this will provide all needed information for claims purposes for yourself and the provider if it is ever needed. If you have any other questions please feel free to call out office and speak with a licensed agent. Thank you for your response. What is the process of claim ? Lets say if there is a need for immediate medical attention (emergency or otherwise) There is a medical hospital - San Ramon Regional Medical center -- which is listed in the IMG First Health ppo network - We walk into the hospital and provide the Insurance ID card - and they will accept that as medical policy / coverage and settle any claim directly ? Regards, Hello, Please see the answers to your email listed below. What is the process of claim ? Lets say if there is a need for immediate medical attention (emergency or otherwise) Please see the following information about the claims process and how to file a claim. Claims Procedure: /international-health-insurance-claims/ There is a medical hospital - San Ramon Regional Medical center -- which is listed in the IMG First Health ppo network – As previously mentioned you can perform a provider search using the following link. PPO Network Search: /international-medical-ppo-network/ We walk into the hospital and provide the Insurance ID card - and they will accept that as medical policy / coverage and settle any claim directly ? Hospitals will always bill directly to the insurance that is standard procedure simply because of the amounts that are charged related to visiting one. Thank you very much for details. Are there any data/stats available for PA Plus / IMG as how many claims they received and how many claims they successfully settled? If not for entire PA Plus / IMG, do you have details for those that purchased thru Insubuy.com? Your responses are much appreciated and will help decide which policy to buy Regards, Hello, No, that information is not available for any plan.
