Unfortunately, there is no insurance plan available on the market for visitors that will cover maternity. The plans will cover any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date. Q:I am doing a research internship at Microsoft Redmond this summer. I would like to obtain an insurance, since it is a requirement for J1 Visa. Here is my information. Date of Birth: 8 Feb 1990 Current mailing/residence address: BC, CANADA *No dependants. Here is the requirements of the insurance that Microsoft sent me through an email: Health Insurance - You must provide proof of coverage in the amounts listed below for yourself and any dependents traveling with you by completing the attached "Insurance Verification Form" and returning it to us. If you do not have, or do not know where to obtain this coverage, you may wish to consider obtaining this coverage through any of the above mentioned providers. Information regarding policies and the application procedures are included for your information. 1. $100,000 per accident or illness 2. $25,000 for repatriation 3. $50,000 for medical evacuation 4. Deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness I'd personally prefer an insurance that covers 100% (no 80/20) and has minimum deductible($0 if possible). I am supposed to fill a form and sent them. The form is attached to this email.
