Q:I will be in the US from September 17, 2107 to April 30, 2018 in an exchange doing research in Stanford University. I need to get health insurance for this time and it needs to fulfill the requirements listed in the attached International Student Insurance Coverage Certification Form. Looking at your website, I saw the Patriot Platinum America on the section for exchange visitors with a J-1 visa. To me, it looks more generous (mainly because it has a 5 million USD limit) than the Student Secure ELITE Plan you suggest and is also cheaper. Since I am no expert, I would like to know why you recommend the Student Secure ELITE Plan?

A:
Patriot Platinum plan does not meet your school requirements. This plan does not have coverage for mental or nervous disorders which is a requirements for your insurance. Please review the Student Secure ELITE plan that was recommended as it meets your requirements. If you need any additional clarification please contact our office.
