Q:I am a research scholar of New Jersey Institute of Technology (J1 visa) from China. My wife (J2 visa) have been pregnant for 4 mouths before Sep 30 (the date we will arrive in U.S.), but we lost the opportunity to buy insurance before pregnant. Would you give some info about an appropriate type of insurance that would cover the maternity related fees for us? Looking forward to your help!

A:
For someone that is already pregnant there is no plan that will cover those expenses. If your sponsor is offering coverage then you can check with them to see if that plan will cover the current pregnancy. Please feel free to contact our office for additional assistance.

Q:I am due to travel to New York and Orlando from the United Kingdom for a period of 17 days, does your insurance cover non-USA residents and will they pay upfront for any medical treatment required?

A:
The international plans will have PPO networks within the United States. In network providers will typically bill directly to the insurance companies when there is a PPO network. The plans available are for anyone traveling outside of their home country so you are not required to be a U.S. citizen to have the available plans. If you need any additional assistance please contact our office.

Q:I am looking for some help and advice. My husband and I live in the USA (He is a citizen and I am waiting on my green card coming through). We are expecting our first child in a few weeks and my mum is hoping to come over in November to help out. My issue is trying to find medical insurance for her as she has a range of pre existing conditions the will need covered. The main one of these is that she has stage 4 kidney disease. She also has some slight issues with her heart but the main concern is her kidneys while she is here. Is there an insurance plan that would cover this? I look forward to getting your advice on this matter.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. We are a broker, and offer all of the major plans available on the market. Unfortunately, there are no plans available which will provide coverage for a pre-existing condition. Short term health insurance plans for visitors are primarily designed to cover any new illness, injury or accident which occurs after the effective date of the policy. Pre-existing conditions, routine doctor's visits and preventative treatments are not covered. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
