The eligibility for non-U.S. citizens will change Monday, August 5, 2013 for new business and for renewing business with September renewal notices.
What does this mean?
For renewing insureds - this means that non-U.S. citizens may no longer remain in the United States for more than 180 days in any given 364-day period. Previously, they were allowed to stay in the United States if they met certain requirements. With this change in eligibility, coverage will immediately terminate if they spend 180 days or more in the United States. Existing insureds who cannot restrict their time in the United States accordingly will need to find replacement coverage.
For new insureds - this means that consumers, regardless of their citizenship, will not be allowed to purchase coverage on Reside Worldwide unless they plan to reside in the United States 180 days or less in any given 364-day period. Should they remain in the United States longer than 180 days, their coverage will immediately terminate.
