How Inbound® Guest Insurance Works - Reviews

FIRST
You pay the deductible once per incident (injury or sickness), even for Dr. visits.
THEN
Plan pays fixed amounts according to the schedule of benefits and you pay the difference.

Overview

Inbound® Guest is a fixed coverage plan and is popular among people who are visiting the U.S. Instant quotes for the plan are available on this web site and you can make an instant purchase. The insurance can be effective as early as the next day or any future date you specify. You will receive a virtual id card in your email within minutes of purchasing the insurance. Physical cards along with the policy wording will be mailed to you on the next business day. You should expect to receive them in the next few business days within the U.S.

What is covered and not covered?

Inbound® Guest will cover any new medical conditions, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy. Inbound® Guest visitors insurance does not pay for any expenses related to pre-existing conditions, preventive check ups, immunizations or maternity. However, it may cover an acute onset of pre-existing conditions up to the policy maximum per period of coverage for persons below the age of 70 years. FAQ on pre-existing conditions

Please look at the schedule of benefits for the prescription drugs coverage which varies according to the chose policy maximum. As dental is not covered in the plan, consider purchasing a low cost plan from CAREINGTON that provides excellent dental coverage.

Inbound® Guest provides coverage in the USA including travel time as well.

How do I use the insurance?
Please look at the detailed description.

How much is covered?

First, you will have to pay a deductible (varies from $0 to $200) per incident (injury or sickness) before the insurance plan starts paying anything for the covered expenses, even for doctor visits. You will need to continue to pay all the money yourself until you have completely satisfied the deductible. The deductible is not just for hospitalization. There is no concept of copay.

The deductible is applied only towards the eligible expenses.

Once you have satisfied the deductible, the plan pays fixed amounts according to the schedule of benefits up to the policy maximum. As you have to pay the difference beyond the benefit amount that is covered, there is no out of pocket maximum.

Example:
Let’s assume that you have taken a $45,000 policy maximum with $50 deductible.

  • Let's assume that the doctor charges $140/visit and you need to make 4 visits.

For a doctor's visit, the insurance plan covers $60. The insurance plan will reimburse you $10. You have $50 towards satisfying the deductible, at this point your deductible has been met. The insurance plan will reimburse you $10. For the second visit, since you have satisfied your deductible, the insurance plan will reimburse you $60. For subsequent visits treating the same incident, it will pay $60/visit, 1 visit/day, 10 visits max.

  • Let’s assume you need the emergency room for a separate incident. The charges for the emergency room come to $2,400. The insurance plan covers up to $295. Since the deductible has not been met, the insurance plan will reimburse $245 and you will pay the remaining $2,155.

  • Let’s assume that you were in an accident and are hospitalized for 3 days and need one surgery, the total bill is $40,000. The insurance plan will pay $1,260/day for hospital room/board for 3 days and $2,970 for surgery.

    $1,260 x 3 = $3,780 + $2,970 = $6,750 - $50 = $6,700

    $40,000 - $6,700 = $33,300

The amount of $33,300 would be the patient responsibly.
