Default US citizen returning to USA: medical insurance needed

I am trying to get health insurance coverage for my Father for when he visits the US. He is a US citizen who resides in Japan but would like to seek health care while visiting. He has type I diabetes and needs to see some doctors in Boston. Any advice or direction on this you could provide would be much appreciated.

    Hello,

Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. Since he is a US citizen, if he is eligible for a long term domestic plan then that plan will cover any treatments he is wanting while in the US. If he is not eligible for a yearlong domestic plan then he can purchase a short term domestic, depending on his age, or a visitors plan. The short term plans will not cover any pre-existing conditions or preventative care or routine treatment. The plans for visitors to the US will cover any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date of the plan. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.
    Thanks & Regards
