    Default insurance for international student

I am an international student. I would like to purchase the plan of visitors care. Is it a travel insurance? ( I cannot buy a travel insurance for my study) My age is 34. The period would be from Jun 17, 2016 - Dec 31, 2016. Please see attached the requirements from my school on Health Insurance Waiver form. ( It seems that the requirements are the insurance from a US-owned company and headquarter is in US.). I checked that UCLA extension that they do not have a strict benefit coverage. Can you check if the plan is eligible according to my school requirement? Is the rate is $123 for above period since it states $123 for this period?
Another question: If I would like to buy insurance for OPT later, may I know if this plan can cover OPT as well?

Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. The Visitors Care plan is a fixed coverage plan and is very basic. The plan will pay a fixed dollar amount and if anything happens the majority of the cost will come from your pocket. It also doesn’t offer a PPO network since it’s a limited benefit plan. Since there is not many requirements listed then it will be up to you if you decide to purchase this plan. We have a section on our website that has plans for students https://www.insubuy.com/internationa...cal-insurance/ and you can enter the information and see more plans.

You can also contact our office and discuss your options with our licensed agents.
    Thanks & Regards

I would like to ensure again if this company for this plan is US-based company and headquarter is in the US? After I purchase it, may I know if I will receive confirmation or ID# that I can provide to my school?

I am about to buy the plan and I would like to know what "Pre-Existing Condition Waiting Period" means. I currently have an insurance coverage from my school; and the end date would be 21 June. Does it mean that I cannot start the new plan from your company on 20 June? Please advise. Thanks.

The Pre-existing condition waiting period means the plan would not provide coverage for a pre-existing medical condition until the policy has been in force for either 6 or 12 months. The waiting period may vary depending on the plan you choose. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
