I am a visiting scholar (J1). Does the visitors care insurance who's price is $78 of three months can meet the requirements? Our school has no additional requirements.

Please be advised, Visitor Care will not meet the new requirements for the J1 visa.

You may purchase the Inbound USA plan with a $100,000 policy maximum and this plan will meet the new J1 requirements. It is a fixed coverage plan similar to the Visitors Care. If you would prefer to go with a comprehensive plan that meets the new requirements, we are providing the link for the Patriot Exchange Program as well. You may purchase using the links provided below, or over the phone by contacting our office at (866) 467-8289.

thanks, can you tell me the reason, why the Visitors care does meet the requirement?

The new J1 visa requirements require a repatriation of remains benefit of $25,000, and the policy maximum must be per injury or sickness. The Visitors care plan has a repatriation of remains benefit of $7,500 and the policy maximum is per period of coverage. This is why the plan does not meet the new J1 visa requirements. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
