I'm a US Citizen (retired military) and I'm planning on taking a vacation in Tokyo, Thailand, and the United States. I'm not sure about Japan but Thailand is required $100,000 travel insurance that covers COVID-19. Is COVID-19 covered and if not would you recommend an insurance organization that does? Travel dates are from 6-26 August. Thank you in advance

As a United States Citizen, if you primarily reside outside the US and are in need of COVID-19 coverage for a visit to the US, the recommended plan would be the Diplomat America plan. As far as travel outside the US is concerned, you would want to purchase a plan such as Safe Travels International Cost Saver. Both plans will allow coverage for COVID-19 if it were to manifest in the body after the effective date of the policy. Keep in mind, just like any other visitor insurance on the market, the plans are designed to cover the new illness and injuries that manifest after the effective date. They do not cover pre-existing conditions, preventative or routine care.
