Booked 4 weeks in Hawaii and bought insurance on January 17, 2020. When I talked with the travel insurance company to get info, in case we have to cancel, if Hawaii enforces additional restrictions, I was told they would not pay because of Covid. The policy I bought did not have the Covid exclusion in it. The company agrees that I bought the policy before they changed the coverage. They even told me that Covid wasn't considered a world event until Feb. 3, 2020. Bottom line, I was told that they changed my coverage to the current policy, so the trip would not be covered. I feel we should be "grandfathered" in. I did not pay for the policy they changes me to. We paid a total of $803.70 for the various policy's to cover the different facets of our trip, all with the same company. We have invested between $13,000-$14,000 for our entire family to go. We were covered then THEY changed my policy. Seems so very wrong at many levels. Do I have any recourse?
