I am thinking to get the International Major Medical Insurance plan. I am a Greencard holder and my job does not offer employer insurance. - If I go to the doctor for a regular checkup. How much is the deductible - How much do you cover on prescriptions? - Do you cover the birth control pill? If so, is it a 100% that is covered or is it a different percentage? - What is the deductible in case of surgery? - What is the deductible in case of emergency room? - Do you have a specific network of hospitals that I need to go to? If so, where can I check which ones are the closest to me? - Do you cover dental as well?
Being new immigrant there is only one plan which provides coverage with co-insurance that is International Major medical plan or short term medical plan.
1. Deductible is the amount you pay first before insurance pay anything. You can choose deductible higher or lower.
2. Under international major medical plan $500.
3. Not covered.
4. Same as any other sickness
5. Same as any other sickness/ injuries
6. Under International major medical there is no PPO. You can visit any provider.
7. This is your medical insurance it does not cover dental. If you get into accident then covers up to policy max.
You can look for short term domestic insurance which will have ppo network.
