US citizen studying abroad (graduate school), covered by that countries health insurance while there, visiting the US. What plan does he need while in the US? He is over 26 thus not covered by parent's insurance but his US address is in his parents home and for voting and tax purposes is a US resident.
A US citizen that primarily resides abroad and is only visiting the US may purchase the Patriot America Plus plan. This plan will cover them for new illnesses, injuries or accidents that manifest or occur after the effective date of the policy. In order to purchase this plan the insured must have a residence address outside of the US.
If the insured does not have a residence address outside of the US, then they may purchase the National General Short Term Medical Plan. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
