Good DayMy son is attending a Colorado university as a student athlete , intercollegiate sport - swimmingI am looking at the exchange guard insurance and student select , both seem good , prefer the exchange guard , expect it doesn't seem to cover intercollegiate sport for some reason - i dont understand why because snow skiing for instance is covered ? which is much more dangerous as that is a adventure sportCould you assist me with which package to look into , with selectable deductible and co-insurance that will include intercollegiate sport Also if you could explain to me as why in student select with sports rider the cover is only up to 5000. maybe its something i dont know or not understanding- as a example - if you are involved in a serious vehicle accident while being transported for intercollegiate sport the max coverage you would get with the sport rider is 5000 ? . Surely that why you have medical insurance , for such a emergency so you are covered for serious accidents
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The plans are customizable with their set riders, however, they are not customizable beyond that. They will have the coverage stated within their certificates and not exceed set coverage. With regard to plans available that could allow for such coverage as intercollegiate swimming, it would be recommended to look into the Diplomat America plan with the optional rider for Athletic Sports and Hazardous Activity Low Option for Intercollegiate or Interscholastic Athletics. Keep in mind you would still want to maintain coverage under another plan as the Diplomat plan will not meet all the necessary requirements needed for the visa type.
