I would like to purchase a medical insurance (Atlas Essential) for J1 from your company but my citizenship is Iran. So, my application was not accepted due to US economic sanction and embargo programs. I have to purchase an insurance in the next three days. Could you please tell me what I should do to solve this big problem? The type of my visa is J1 and I want to be in USA (university of Arkansas for medical sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas) for 6 months (till 15 Nov 2017). The coverage of my insurance should be as the text shown below. Medical insurance must cover the entire period of participation in the Exchange Visitor program. Effective May 15, 2015, J-1 insurance coverage requirements are as follows: - Provide a minimum of $100,000 per accident or illness. - Medical evacuation (emergency medical transportation to the home country) must be covered in the amount of $50,000. - Repatriation (the transportation of remains back to the home country in the unfortunate event of death) must be covered in the amount of $25,000. - The deductible must not exceed $500 per accident or illness.
Atlas Exchange has country restriction for Iran. You can purchase Patriot Exchange Program plan which is very similar to Atlas Exchange, it meets standard J1 visa requirements and there is no country restriction for Iran.
