I'm here on a J1-visa (valid until April 2019) working with research at a university. I have an insurance from back home that is valid until April 2019. My stay will be extended for some months but I can't extend my insurance from home but I understand that you can help me with that and I have seen offers and quotes on your homepage. It says on your home page that I can only buy this insurance if I have a valid J1-visa. I have a valid visa right now but it ends in mid-April. I will however get a new DS-2019 form from the university so I can legally stay and work in the US for the coming months. It does not make sense to fly to Europe and show the DS-2019 at an embassy so I can get a new J1 visa since I don't need it for my stay (I only need the visa if I leave US and enter back during these months, which I will not do). My question therefore is. Can I apply for an Insurance even if I don't have a valid J1-visa in my passport but a valid DS-2019 form that allows me to legally be in the US and legally work here? Your "rules" says valid J1-visa but maybe you mean valid DS-2019 since that is the form needed to legally be and work here in the US, the J1-visa is only when you enter into the US (and I am already here).
