U.S. Students Abroad insurance provides coverage to U.S. citizens and legal residents of the U.S. (ages 14 to 64
years) who are students/scholars/faculty members and who are engaged in international educational activities
outside the U.S. Please note that online courses are not eligible.
U.S. Students Abroad insurance is administered by
HTH Worldwide
and underwritten by HM Life Insurance Company, rated A- "Excellent" by A.M. Best.
You can either apply for the insurance online on this web site or you can mail us the paper application.
U.S. Students Abroad insurance provides the lifetime maximum benefit of $250,000 and $100,000/year and
$100,000 per injury or sickness. It provides medical coverage including physician office visits, inpatient
hospital services, pregnancy coverage, accidental death and dismemberment, repatriation of remains, medical
evacuation, bedside visit and many other important coverages desirable to international students. However,
outpatient prescription drugs are covered only at 50% of the reasonable charge. Before the insurance pays
any benefits, you will have to pay $50 deductible per injury or sickness.
Please note that U.S. Students Abroad insurance is available only to the international students and is
not available to their dependents. Preventive medicines, routine physical examinations or medically
unnecessary procedures are not covered. As the coverage is not available to the students from all the
U.S. states, please look at the brochure to see if you are eligible.
If you end up extending your stay for further studies, U.S. Students Abroad insurance is renewable. If you
are not completely satisfied with U.S. Students Abroad insurance, you can get the refund within 10
days of the receipt.
