Patriot Go Travel International provides coverage for U.S. citizens traveling outside the U.S. for a minimum of 5 days up to a maximum of two years. If the plan is purchased for a minimum of three months, coverage may be renewed (without break in coverage) for a total of up to two years.
The primary difference between the Patriot Go Travel Insurance and regular Patriot Travel Medical Insurance is that regular
Patriot insurance covers several things such as emergency medical evacuation, repatriation of mortal remains, injury to teeth
in an accident and loss of checked luggage. Those coverages are not available in Patriot Go Travel Insurance. Therefore,
Patriot Go Travel Insurance is a little cheaper than Patriot Travel Medical Insurance.
Some people think that those who are visiting the USA do not really need the services such as emergency medical evacuation.
However, that may not always be the case as all the medical facilities are not always available everywhere in the U.S.
E.g., we had a case where a person who lived in San Diego, CA invited his parents from India to visit him. He had purchased
Patriot Go Travel America for them. He took them to
northern California to Yosemite National Park. Over there, they had an accident and all of them were injured to different extent
and were being treated at a local clinic in the forest in different rooms .
His father (visitor) needed an MRI and that facility was not available there. Therefore, they arranged a helicopter for him to take
him to Fresno, CA, not too far from there. However, the bill for that flight was $22,000 and was not covered by the insurance as it
was not a covered expense. Of course, other eligible expenses were paid as per the terms of the policy.
Not available in the state of MD for non-U.S. citizens.
