If Patriot America or Patriot International is purchased for a minimum of three months, coverage may be renewed (without break in coverage) for a total of up to two years. Renewals are available in whole month increments. Each insured person must only satisfy one deductible and coinsurance within each yearly coverage period.

Please note that this is a renewal of policy and NOT a new policy. That means that if something happens in previous months, it will not be considered a pre-existing condition. While if you take a new policy, it will be considered a pre-existing condition. Thus renewability is a big advantage.

Every time you renew the policy, the insurance company charges a $5 renewal fee, in addition to the premium. Therefore, it is a good idea to not pay in too many installments if you already know that you are going to stay for a few months. Whether you buy in small durations or for many months at a time, the total premium rate remains the same, and the deductible is also only once per year. The only difference is the $5 fee per renewal.
