My wife and I are making separate, long trips--she to Australia and New Zealand, I to Alaska. The trips are roughly at the same time. I begin my trip in the beginning of August and return at the end of September. She begins her's at the beginning of September and returns at the end of September.

I want to know: Does the 'couples' insurance cover us if we go to separate destinations?

Her case is pretty straight forward. However, I plan to motor to Alaska through Canada and not by ferry through the inland waterway. Can you make a case that I also need your medical evacuation insurance?

We both are covered by bluc Cross/Blue Shield through my employer. Is the only benefit that I am insuring is that you will pay the shipping for my carcass?

Please enlighten. I must make a decision on this issue and select an insurance carrier in the next few days.

1. You can go to separate destinations even if you buy couples insurance.

2. Liaison Traveler covers you only when you are outside your home country. And Alaska is in the US. You would be covered anywhere outside the US.

You can make instant purchase at http://www.liaisontraveler.com (http://www.liaisontraveler.com)

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
