I'm looking for advice for my daughter. She will be leaving in early Nov. for Chile for an extended period of time - probably 12+ months. We have both reviewed your policy information online, but I have several questions. She is 25 yrs. old and in good health. What policy would you recommend? We're having trouble deciding on deductable amount and coverage. I realize that the lower amounts save considerable money, but realize that it's a gamble. Any pointers? She is active in sports. I don't fully understand the advantages of the optional sports rider.

ExPatriot Plus is an excellent policy, available at http://www.buyimginsurance.com (http://www.buyimginsurance.com/) $50,000 coverage with $250 deductible is a good choice. As for the sports rider please look at page 5 of the brochure at http://www.buyimginsurance.com/patriot/america/brochure.pdf (http://www.buyimginsurance.com/patriot/america/brochure.pdf) It covers any injuries that occurs during hazardous sports such as snow skiing, bungee jumping etc.

If I understand correctly, Expatriot coverage for her, including the sports rider, would cost $518.40 per year at the $250 deductable level (50,000 max. benefit). How/when must this be paid? While I understand that these choices are based on individual preferences, I wonder what most young people in similar circumstances purchase. Any information and suggestions you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

You have to pay for minimum 3 months initially. After that, you can pay in installments of any of number of months you like. Expatriot Plus is an excellent plan.

Your answers were helpful. Thank you. One additional question, please: What is the cost of the extended end of trip home coverage (just divide the annual premium by 12 for each month?) 2 months maximum, correct?

Thanks again

The cost per month is same whether it is outside home country or within the home country at the end. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
